Success stories:

VOCATIONAL TRAINING

Shabana studied upto x class after that she could not continue her studies as her parents did not approve to venture outside. One day she came to know about the beautician and mehendi training at Sahara from her friends.  She came to Sahara with her grand mother  and seeing other girls getting trained  in beautician course she convinced her family  to learn for time being as she  may get married in a short period.  When she completed her course with SAHARA along with life skill classes,  her self confidence grew and she wanted to support her parents and younger sisters. She became a trainer at Sahara itself and later started her own parlour at home.  Her first income started with Rs. 0- to Rs.3000 and now she is able to earn more than 20,000. Her life has taken a successful turn with the course she has learned and she became an asset to family and  herself. She started earning for herself with respect and dignity.

K.Vijayalaxmi Kapraveni  (Hyderabad )

Vijayalaxmi Kapraveni is staying at Premnagar of Amberpet, Hyderabad. This area is dominated by the migrated population from different districts. Her parents also migrated from north Telangana areas to city for survival.  Her father Rajaiah died in the year 1994 when she was 8 years old. Then, her mother Balamma became a maid servant to feed her two children.  Vijayalaxmi completed 7th class and after which she could not continue her education because of the family burden. She has one brother who works as a daily labour. She slowly started to accompany her mother in maid servant work after her school hours.

She had worked with four houses as a maid servant earned Rs.1200 per month. She was not happy to do maid servant work but she was compelled to do for the sake of the family survival.  The income from other members of her family was not sufficient. When she got counseling from sahara, she said that she has a desire to learn the tailoring but she could not go to any other training institute because of heavy fee and she was very much inclined to join the course to fulfill her desire.

She has joined in CIF supported   Sahara Training Centre which she had come to know through the mouth to mouth canvassing. She was brought in to the training center by Sravanthi one of the trainee after seeing her pathetic situation. She had completed tailoring and embroidery during the year 2010-11. Presently she is doing stitching and embroidery work at home and earning   around Rs. 2000 per month. Her mother Balamma is satisfied because she sees her daughter as a tailor. She never expected such a kind of changes in her daughter. Apart from doing tailoring work, now Vijaya  is learning beautician course at Sahara to increase her income.
